    杨贵妃吃的荔枝是从哪里来的??

    最近在读一本书,叫River Town-Two Years on The Yangtze, 是一个美国鬼子写自己到涪陵当英文老师的经历。书我才读了三分之一,所以暂不发表评论。不过看到涪陵,我首先想到的是榨菜,除此之外,我其实都没什么别的印象。今天在书中看到一段写唐代美人杨贵妃,杨美人儿喜欢吃荔枝大家都晓得,还有诗为证:“一骑红尘妃子笑,无人知是荔枝来”。但问题就在于美国鬼子说贵妃吃的是涪陵荔枝。涪陵产荔枝么?不是岭南产荔枝么?莫非我以前吃的都是涪陵荔枝?我作为一个土生土长的四川人,对美国鬼子的说法大感怀疑。在网上搜了一搜,发现四川果然有好几个地方产荔枝,还发现涪陵现在是重庆的一个区了。对于杨贵妃所吃荔枝的来源,也有人作过考证(http://eat.cnool.net/news.aspx?thenewsid=5415&page=1)。从链接的这篇文章的推算来看,四川确实是离长安最近的荔枝产地,但就算是从离长安最近的四川运送荔枝,也要4、5天,那贵妃吃的要么就是不新鲜的荔枝,要么就是荔枝干了。也有人提出贵妃其实根本就没吃到过新鲜荔枝,那她岂不是当了千年的冤大头,一个馋嘴的女人硬是成了一个朝代没落的缩影。坚持说荔枝出自岭南的人也提出了相应的论证,当时就有一些保鲜方法:<摘>《广东新语》--“藏荔枝法,就树摘完好者,留蒂寸许,蜡封之,乃剪去蒂,复以蜡封剪口,蜜水满浸,经数月,味色不变”。徐勃在其《荔枝谱》介绍了另一种办法:“乡人常选鲜红者,于林中择巨竹凿开一穴,置荔节中,仍以竹箨裹泥封固其隙,藉竹生气滋润,可藏至冬春,色香不变”。现如今各地纷纷宣称自己为“正宗”贵妃荔枝产地,我一时也眼花缭乱,还待高人指点。
    题外话:我这周末也欣喜地在超市买到了新鲜荔枝,味甜水多核小,但没吃完的放了一天就有点不新鲜了。边看DVD边剥荔枝,手里面这么小小一棵荔枝,居然代表着“唐玄宗的荒淫好色和贵妃的恃宠而骄”(语文书上写的?Sarcastic),同屋的伊朗人和俄罗斯人完全不能领会其中深奥的意义,还在瓜夕夕地问我是不是要剥了壳壳才能吃。
